Kribi beach guide: which beach for what?

Grand Batanga = swimming & families. Londji = quiet & romantic. Ebodjé = turtle watching (Nov-Feb). South beach = surfing. Each beach has its own character. I've been living here 3 years and still discovering new spots!

Airport to Akwa: best transport options

For newcomers: avoid unofficial taxis at the airport. Use the hotel shuttle service or book through a verified app. The ride should cost between 5000-8000 FCFA depending on traffic. Rush hour can double the time.

Safety tips for first-time visitors to Yaoundé

Yaoundé is generally safe but here are some tips: avoid walking alone at night in poorly lit areas, keep valuables hidden, use official taxis (yellow), and always have your hotel's number saved. The police emergency number is 117.

Best nightlife spots in Akwa this weekend

Just discovered an amazing new lounge in Akwa district. Live DJ, great cocktails, and the vibe is incredible. The dress code is smart casual. Highly recommend going after 11pm when it really gets going!

Coming home after 10 years: what has changed

Just landed in Douala after a decade in France. The city has transformed! New roads, more restaurants, mobile money everywhere. Some things haven't changed though — the warmth of the people and the incredible food. Happy to be home!

Where to find the best ndolé in Douala?

I've been searching for authentic ndolé for weeks. Chez Mama Africa is good but I want something more traditional, like grandma used to make. Any suggestions in Bonabéri or Deido area?

Fresh seafood: my top 5 spots in Kribi

1. Le Berceau (best grilled fish), 2. Chez Coco (beach vibes), 3. Mami Wata (local favorite), 4. Le Phare (sunset views), 5. Chez Pierre (lobster specialist). All are on or near the beach. Budget 5000-15000 FCFA per person.

Foumban art market: bargaining guide

The Foumban art market is incredible but you need to know how to bargain. Start at 30% of the asking price, be friendly, walk away if needed. Best buys: bronze sculptures, wooden masks, traditional fabrics. Avoid buying on the first day — come back!

Waza National Park: what to expect

Visited Waza last month. Best time is Feb-May when animals gather at water points. Saw elephants, giraffes, and lions! Book a 4x4 with driver from Maroua. The road is rough but worth it. Bring binoculars and lots of water.
